Nudists to Supervisor Scott Wiener: Banning Naked People Is "Totally Un-San Franciscan"

San Francisco's most committed nudists are working hard to preserve their freedom to flap those penises all around in public.

A local naked person started a petition asking the Board of Supervisors to refuse any legislation that might come before them banning public nudity. Consider it a preemptive strike to Supervisor Scott Wiener's comments that he just might propose a new law prohibiting people from going au naturel in San Francisco.

Here's what the naked folks have to say about that:

Currently the City by the Bay is embroiled in a controversy about public

nudity. Right now there is no law preventing public nudity in the City

and County of San Francisco. Let's keep it that way!

The general acceptance of public nudity in is one of those cool

only-in-San-Francisco things and we want to encourage the City Leaders

and Elected Officials to resist giving in to a few anti-nudists who

would like to impose a total citywide ban. That's totally un-San

Franciscan! Show your support for body freedom and acceptance.

Wiener, who represents the Castro, where most of this public nudity is taking place, has tried to compromise with nudists. Initially, he said he wouldn't ban the bare-skinned, but rather drafted legislation that would, at the very least, force them to put a newspaper, or a towel, or something between their naked bum and wherever they're sitting in public.

But after the cock ring patrol controversy broke out a few weeks ago, Wiener sorta crumbled, telling the Bay Area Reporter that it's just obnoxious and irresponsible for naked men to draw that kind of attention to their private parts.

It's unclear whether Wiener is actively working on legislation to ban nudists, or if the ick factor was just really high for him on that day. Regardless, if you like being naked or you just like seeing others exposed, feel free to add your John Hancock here.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
