The San Francisco SPCA has, understandably, decided that with a little liquor in your system, you won't be able to look that sad, homeless puppy in the eyes and say "No."
We have to say, that's a pretty damn good reason for the local animal shelter to offer free alcohol and free food along with free cats and dogs at its weekend-long adoptathon, which starts Friday.
How much freer can this get?
Come claim your pet starting 1 p.m. on Friday, and then stick around to celebrate your new union at the SPCA's cocktail party that night, which will include some good music.
On Saturday, adoptions start again at 10 a.m., followed by a bake sale and other cool stuff. And then on Sunday, the shelter will host an
animal behavior Q&A session from 2 to 3 p.m., with adoptions available until 6 p.m.
"Our goal is to find homes for at least 150 animals during the adoptathon," said Jennifer Scarlett, SF SPCA co-president.
So stop being selfish and head down to the SPCA this weekend and give one of those poor cats and dogs a new home.
