Sen. Leland Yee Is Getting Threats Over His "Un-American" Gun-Control Bill

State Sen. Leland Yee has riled up conservatives again, and not exactly the kind of right-wingers you want to make mad.

CBS reports that Yee's office has been fielding threats from gun enthusiasts who have launched a vicious campaign against the San Francisco Democrat's proposed gun-control bill.

Senate Bill 249 aims to make the "bullet button" harder for gun lovers to use, which essentially means it will be that much harder for them to get fire assault weapons, which are illegal in California anyway. The bullet button allows you to detach a magazine, despite the fact that state law says detachable magazines in combination with other features

are illegal. But, as CBS reports, the bullet button makes a gun's

magazine "fixed" and therefore legal, because you need a tool to detach it.

Needless to say, Yee's bill is pushing some buttons at the firing range; gun-toters have called his office, making racist threats, and telling him to "go back to Communist China."

"Unfortunately there are many individuals in the state and in this country that look to the bill that I am carrying as really un-American. And I will tell you that I am probably as American as anyone else," Yee tells CBS .

It's not the first time Yee has been hammered with loony threats. In 2010, the Secret Service was unleashed to investigate threats Yee received after the state senator inquired how much Sarah Palin was being paid to speak at a California university.

Here's one one phone caller said at that time: "Maybe we ought to have a homosexual with a long enough dick to where he can stick it up his ass and fuck himself while he is onstage giving a speech.... So, good thing you [Yee] run in San Francisco 'cause you'd never make it anywhere else."

Then in 2011, Yee made national headlines after he publicly scolded Rush Limbaugh for making fun of the Chinese language in his radio show. Limbaugh fans fired off faxes, phone calls, and letters to Yee, with not-so-loving comments like this one:

To: JoBama Rectum Sniffing Moron LEELAND LEE Achtung! Fish Head Leeland Lee.  Rush Limbaugh will kick your Chink ass and expose you for the fool you are. Without exceptions, Marxists are enemies of the United States Constitution!  Death to all Marxists!  Foreign and Domestic!"

We're guessing it's fair to assume Yee's senate photo is being widely used for target practice at the firing range.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
