San Francisco police announced some interesting news this morning, claiming they've found a video that proves there was a conspiracy to murder Calvin Sneed, a pimp from Compton, who was shot and killed as he drove through the Bayview last month.
The DA condemned Mercado and Barry Gilton, who claim their 17-year-old daughter was being pimped out by Sneed
in Los Angeles, for taking the law into their own hands rather than calling on the cops when they learned that Sneed was in San Francisco on June 4 -- the day he was killed.
"Revenge outside of the law is not justice within in," Gascón told reporters at a press conference today. "The parents did not turn to the San Francisco Police Department, but instead turned to other people and conspired to commit a murder."
Sneed was shot in the head at the intersection of Meade and Le Conte avenues at about 2 a.m. while driving a Toyoto Camry, which then crashed into a parked vehicle.
Prosecutors say Barry Gilton pulled the trigger, killing Sneed.
All four suspects are held in jail in lieu of $2 million bail. They will appear in court together on July 12.
