Last night, the San Francisco community gathered at Harvey Milk Plaza to honor the two lesbian teens who were shot in the head last weekend, killing one and injuring the other.
On June 23, Mollie Judith Olgin, 19, and Mary Kristene Chapa, 18, were found in
knee-deep grass in a park in Portland, Texas, by a couple. Olgin died while Chapa was rushed to an area hospital and is reportedly recovering.
Police could not say whether the shootings were motivated by the fact that the girls were in a same-sex relationship, and they are not yet investigating it as a hate crime. Still, the news shocked LGBT communities across the nation; candlelight vigils were held in cities across the nation, including San Francisco.
If you didn't get a chance to make it to the vigil last night, here's a video of it, recorded by local reader Sean Chapin.
