Nearly a month since 15-year-old Sierra LaMar went missing, her family is offering a $10,000 reward for her safe return, hoping that will bring their daughter back soon.
The reward, which was announced over the weekend, will be given to the first person who
provides information that will help bring LaMar back to her family alive, said KlaasKids Foundation founder Mark Klaas. The reward money will come from LaMar's family,
and not from the foundation, which has been coordinating volunteer
search efforts, Klaas told reporters.
Meanwhile, volunteers continued their search for the missing teen, who was last seen the morning of March 16 when she was supposed to catch her bus to school. On Saturday, 600 volunteers went out to scour the area near her home, including San Francisco 49ers quarterback Alex Smith and some teammates.
Anyone with information about Sierra or her whereabouts is asked to contact Santa Clara County Communications at (408) 299-2311. During business hours, tipsters can call sheriff's investigators at (408) 808-4500 or the anonymous tip line at (408) 808-4431.
