Amid the flurry of hard-hitting election news yesterday, we were also captivated by a tearjerker about a puppy stolen from the San Francisco SPCA just hours before it was to scheduled to be adopted by a family. Fortunately, we can report good news today: Bodhi, an adorable light-brown pit bull, was returned to the animal shelter yesterday and is already enjoying his new digs with his adopted family.
A woman brought Bodhi, formerly known as James, to the shelter at about 2 p.m. yesterday, claiming she bought the dog outside a Safeway store in the Mission for $200. Apparently, the woman's mother saw the puppy on the news and realized the new addition to their family was the missing dog.
Anyone with information is asked to call the SF SPCA at 554-3029.
