How much would you pay to hang out with Apple nerds for a week?
Okay, now take that number and add $3,000 -- that's what sold-out tickets are now going for on auction sites.
Tickets to the Worldwide Developer's Conference in San Francisco this summer sold out in less than 12 hours on Monday. Not to worry, you can still buy one off eBay -- for $3,000. Earlier this week, some scalpers were reportedly selling them for as much as $4,000.
Which, we might add, is well over the sticker price of $1,599.
As of Thursday evening, there were 10 WWDC auctions listed on eBay, with the highest bid set at $3,144.86.
The conference is particularly popular among developers this
year since Apple CEO Steve Jobs advertised it as the forum for the "post-PC world."
Before tickets went on sale Monday, Jobs sent out an e-mail to developers, inviting them to the annual conference where they would be able to get sneak peek at the future of iOS and Mac OS X.
Although, some analysts have speculated that there will be a surprise or two at the conference.
Perhaps a viewing of plans for the iPhone 5?
Or maybe just a showing of Revenge of the Nerds.
