Apparent Jumper Dies at Third and Stevenson

A person has leaped to his or her death at Third and Stevenson in SOMA, according to reports received by SF Weekly and confirmed by the medical examiner's office.

Details are sketchy.The hotel an eyewitness told SF Weekly the jumper vaulted off of denied such an event took place -- while a neighboring hotel's personnel flatly refused to comment.

What we do know is, an apparent jumper is dead and members of the medical examiner's office are on the scene. More as we know more.

Update, 12:30: Officer Albie Esparza of the San Francisco Police Department said a report came in at 11:16 of "a man possibly jumping off the roof of the Westin Hotel." Esparza confirmed that this man did indeed die.
