An interesting e-mail arrived in our inbox over the weekend from Stefanos and Chey, the self-described "Purveyors of Perversion" who are mainstays of San Francisco's BDSM and fetish-sex scene. Apparently one of their comrades in arms, Kink.com model Maggie Mayhem, is headed to Haiti to join recovery workers in Leogane, who are working to restore the country in the aftermath of its devastating January earthquake.

A fundraiser for Ms. Mayhem's trip will be held from 5 to 11 p.m. this

Thursday, June 24, at Medici Lounge on Folsom. Stefanos and Chey

say they're hoping to raise $1,500, and that part of the proceeds from

food and drink sales will go toward that goal. They add, "Play 'kinky'

games with Maggie and other naughty models to help raise money

too!"

When not undergoing deliberately inflicted pain, Mayhem apparently enjoys alleviating it in others. She describes her activist tendencies on her website: "Some of her time is spent being beaten and fucked over at Kink.com, but most of her life revolves around her work in sex education and HIV prevention." The site also says she hopes to spend at least one month in Haiti working on disaster-relief projects.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
