The San Francisco Police Department moments ago announced it has arrested the man it believes beat, stabbed, and robbed cabbie Balvinder Singh on Jan. 11, nearly killing the 53-year-old driver.

Police spokesman Lieutenant Lyn Tomioka said that "excellent witnesses" who aided Singh after the attack were the key factor in the arrest of 26-year-old Pittsburgh resident Bruce Griffin, but could not elaborate on how witness information led to Griffin.

Griffin was arrested at Post and Larkin streets at 1:40 this morning and charged with robbery and attempted homicide. He was on parole for robbing a cab driver in 2003.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
