In the second paragraph of the final post of SFGate.com's "World Views" blog, Edward Gomez teases what reads like an impending massacre at the Chronicle.

To wit:

"...Numerous other, familiar features of this website will also be disappearing, and a notable number of employees from the S.F.Gate/San Francisco Chronicle editorial team will be leaving the print/electronic newspaper as its editorial-production staff is dramatically downsized..."

New Year's Day, careful readers will recall, was when the paper planned to make good on its 125-staffer "reduction goal."

"The company said it would consider accepting more than 125 employees and that it has the right to reject as well as accept applicants. If the reduction is not met, the company said, layoffs will be likely," an Aug. 2, section B-3 news brief said.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
