In this gayest of gift-giving seasons, what do we get that randy special someone without busting the bank? For thrifty San Francisco shoppers with friends in New York, the answer's a free calendar from a TV company. Time Warner Cable's entry into the beefcake calendar sweepstakes features glistening, come-hither-smiling, man-babe "cable installers," some with chests bared.

Step 1.) Check out this New York Daily News gallery of the calendar images.
Step 2.) Call your friend in New York, ask if she's a cable subscriber, and explain your needs.
Step 3.) Have the friend log on to Time Warner's website and sign up for a free calendar.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
