Free culture champion and Stanford law professor, Larry Lessig announced today that he won't be running for Congress this year. He explains his decision in a video posted on his blog, in which he says that if the purpose of his running for congress was to inspire change, then losing big (and this seemed a likely outcome) would be counteractive. Ralph Nader, are you taking notes? All the money raised for the campaign-that-never-was will be donated to Lessig's Change Congress movement that hopes to limit the influence of money on the legislative and electoral process. Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
