Chicken John Pissed At Ethics Commission

Posted By on Wed, Oct 3, 2007 at 11:45 AM

Chicken John just took out an ad in the SF Weekly inviting people to South Park at noon October 9 to chat about what bullshit rules the Ethics Commission used to keep him from getting public funds.

According to our man John, the city will only match you if your funds qualify, meaning: donor addresses have to match donor driver's licenses (screw you, students), and no paypal (screw you, intertubes!).

"The whole public finance system is broken" he said.

Sad thing is, some arsehole probably made these rules to help little guys compete. But that's the thing about making rules: you can never envision the blowback -- like say a plucky no-hoper who tries to run an unconventional campaign.

Thanks for helping the powers that be, Ethics Commission!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
