Your Friday lunch plans just got a lot more interesting. To celebrate the 15th birthday of local tech giant SalesForce, founder and philanthropist-of-note Mark Benioff has Janelle Monáe performing a free concert at Justin Herman Plaza this Friday, March 7.

Yes, that's right: Janelle Monáe, futuristic R&B star and probable goddess, is doing her thing for the masses on the Embarcadero tomorrow. Mayor Ed Lee and Benioff will take the stage at 12:30 p.m. to introduce her performance.

Before the show, Benioff has invited the public to join his staff in packing meals for Stop Hunger Now. Alternatively, he's asking people to bring 15 cans of food to donate to the S.F. Food Bank. The volunteer activities begin at 11 a.m. and run until 2. So cut out of work early, bring some cans, and go shake your thing to Janelle.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
