Watch Mikal Cronin's Cinematic, Downbeat Video for "Peace of Mind," Featuring Mary Timony

Still our favorite local rock record of the year, Mikal Cronin's MCII is also still producing singles. Latest to get the video treatment is the melancholy "Peace of Mind," the clip for which features Mary Timony of Wild Flag and Helium in a day-in-the-life-of-a-hotel-maid story. Sounds bleak, and it is, but there is some relief at the end -- maybe just a little. Anyway, the Lara Gallagher-directed video is a good companion to a great song. Check it out above, and read our cover feature on Mikal Cronin if you haven't already.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
