On a random Tuesday night in -- well, gosh, it's now October, we suppose -- you could do a lot worse than heading to Brick and Mortar for a free set by Holly Miranda, the Los Angeles singer/songwriter/heartstring-plucker with a voice that's just way too pretty. She's got two new singles out on the Interwebs, both recorded with TV on the Radio's Dave Sitek, with links below. They're both slow and soulful and will probably get you canceling whatever plans you made to stay in tonight. Go to Wood Shoppe at Brick and Mortar instead.

Holly Miranda -- "Desert Call" (via Brooklyn Vegan)

Holly Miranda -- "Everlasting" (via Idolator)

Wood Shoppe starts at 9 p.m. at Brick and Mortar tonight, featuring Evil Eyes, There's Talk, Different Fur DJs, and of course Holly Miranda.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
