Right on the heels of his marathon, headline-grabbing set at SXSW, Prince's opening project band announced he'll be doing the small-room thing for audiences outside of Austin, too. A podcast on a Prince fansite revealed last night that the Purple One will play multiple shows in club-sized California venues, including four shows at S.F.'s DNA Lounge, this spring.
The word is that Prince will play two shows each, early and late, at DNA on April 23 and 24. Those dates are mysteriously dark on the DNA Lounge calendar, and we've been hearing rumors about a big upcoming show at the club.
There's no pricing or ticket info online yet, but as soon as there is, we'll update this post. In the understatement of the year, we'll just say that tickets probably won't be cheap.
