According to Wayne Coyne's hyperactive Twitter feed, The Flaming Lips rolled into San Francisco yesterday evening, just a day or so before their Noise Pop festival-opening performance of The Soft Bulletin at Bimbo's tonight.

The first order of business, natch, was securing some "medical marijuana" for the crew. But after that, where would a freaky rock band from Oklahoma end up on a nice Monday night in San Francisco?

Duh: Zeitgeist.

"Alright!! Gettin drunk at Zietgeist!! [sic] Weirdos smoking pot!!!! Ha ha," Coyne Tweeted at 10:29 p.m. on Monday.

Here's parts of the story, via Coyne's Twitter, of the Flaming Lips' arrival in San Francisco last night. (The middle Tweet appears to be from one of the band's road techs.) Did you see Coyne or any of the Flaming Lips at Zeitgeist? Tell us what happened in the comments. And while you're at it, read our interview with Coyne, and catch our plentiful coverage of Noise Pop's 20th Anniversary. Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
