The Red Hot Chili Peppers are back, finally, after a five-year hiatus. Their 10th album, I'm With You, will hit stores on August 30, but in the meantime, patient fans get a sneak peak with "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie," which RHCP released to the web today. (Yes, we admit to being excited, even if some of us have, uh, mixed feelings about the band.) Check it out here:

"The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie" opens with a creeping bass line, and Chad Smith's marching rhythm propels the song all the way through. The whole song is pretty laid-back overall, but Anthony Kiedis' "Heeeeey, noowwww, you've got to make it rain somehow ..." has already lodged itself in our brains and is playing on repeat.

But where's Josh Klinghoffer? One would think that RHCP would want to flaunt their new guitarist, who replaced longtime guitarist John Frusciante for this album, a little more. Other than the mini 15-second solo he gets at 2:30, Klinghoffer is mostly relegated to the background. But we're sure he is given greater prominence in other tracks, and will hold off until the album release until we judge how Klinghoffer measures up.

RHCP has also teamed up with an eclectic bunch of partners. Controversial British artist Damien Hirst, of diamond-encrusted skull and formaldehyde shark fame, designed the minimalist album cover . The band has also hired Oakland bad-girl Kreayshawn to direct the video for "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie."

Speaking of which, we love the funky, out-of-this-world track title. Rain Dance Maggie is joined by other intriguingly named tracks like "Monarchy of Roses," "Annie Wants a Baby," "Factory of Faith," and "Ethiopia." I'm with You, the Peppers promise their fans. It's a little sappy, perhaps, but we're happy they're with us.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
