Today, British downtempo legend Portishead announced its first North American tour in 13 years, including a stop in the Bay Area. The band will be supported by Thought Forms, a trio signed to Invada, the record label of Portishead's Geoff Barrow. It's been three years since Portishead's third album Third was released, a follow-up to 1997's self-titled offering, and while no release date has been set for a fourth full-length, we'd be surprised if at least some new music wasn't part of this stage show.

Today through July 14, a limited amount of tickets to each performance on the tour -- including the band's Oct. 21 gig at Berkeley's Greek Theatre -- are on sale through Portishead's official ticket store. Tickets will be available from usual outlets beginning July 15 and 16.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
