Pretty much since the moment we heard about the Big 4 tour, we've been wanting to see it hit the U.S. Interstate system. Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax have played dates all over Europe, so when they announced only one U.S. show in Indio, Calif., this past weekend, we were a little bummed. We want a Big 4 stop in the Bay Area! And we're sure our headbanging pals in, like, Nebraska, would like one, too!
Well, now it looks like there's hope for more Big 4 dates. At least if if Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich can be trusted.
Naturally, Rolling Stone was backstage at Big 4, having a chat with Ulrich. And lo and behold, the chatty drummer dropped a few hints:
And with the success of the Indio concert, additional "Big 4" appearances appear to be highly likely, with an East Coast date the soonest probable follow-up. "Obviously, this thing should play more places in America," Metallica frontman* Lars Ulrich told Rolling Stone.
Take that as you will. We will take it hopefully. Lars, if you're reading this, bring the Big 4 to America. And don't forget the Bay Area -- you're all pretty familiar with it.
*We're sure Rolling Stone's Matt Diehl was just a bit metal-fatigued when he wrote this.
