Good week for sumptuous and slightly sinister black-and-white videos from San Francisco acts. This one, for "Black Night," the first song off of No Color (aha!), finds local duo The Dodos channeling equal parts Johnny Cash and Fleet Foxes over an ever-stranger, ever-tenser assemblage of split-second scenes that culminates in a full-on... well, see for yourself below.

Sometimes a night out in the Mission just doesn't turn out the way you

planned, you know? Unless you've got weird facial hair, in which case

sometimes it turns precisely the way you planned. The video was directed by Ariel Danziger, whose work you might recognize from past joints by Passion Pit and Muse.

The Dodos are on tour romping around Canada as we speak, but you can catch them a week from tomorrow at the Fillmore before they head off to instigate bar fights all over Europe.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
