Walking In Sunlight
, a newish S.F. group that specializes in old-school banjo picking and gorgeous three-part harmonies, that's what I wanted to do. I leaned back in my chair and soaked up the acoustic sounds and felt like I was in North Carolina in like 1934, when you wouldn't have even needed to throw away your synthesizers, because synthesizers didn't exist yet (right?).
Throw your synthesizers out the window -- or at least turn them off for a while -- and remember how much roots music rules. When I first heard the self-titled debut from
Right. Point is, listen to this music after the jump. It's purdy.
And there's a bonus: Walking in Sunlight is local, but the group doesn't play out all that much. So it's extra special that the band is playing at Cafe Du Nord this Friday, for Turkey Trot 2010, the 69th edition (whoa) of this underground-y Americana/roots music festival.
