"Famous Blue Raincoat?"

"Hallelujah?"

Any of the other dozens of classic tearjerking plaints and pleads this Canadian standard, Leonard Cohen, has authored?

Well, if you haven't seen him play them yet, here is your chance.

Cohen's bringing his three-hour groan to the Paramount Theatre in Oakland this December 5th and 6th, part of a string of final North American dates before the rock 'n' roll hall of famer heads back into the studio. (I know -- why does he need to go back into the studio?)

But anyway: Tickets for the local versions of Cohen's lauded live shows go onsale this Saturday, October 10, at 10 a.m. The fan club pre-sale starts Thursday.

It should be a good time. Consider yourself informed.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
