San Francisco's DJ White Mike is the man behind this 40-minute mixtape of club-ready sonics, which he calls Lights and Sounds. We've certainly featured Mike and his Get Loose! shindig before, but this upbeat DJ set is something a tad different from the mixmaster's usual fare. Yes, it's still party music, but instead of the old-school hip-hop and pop tunes that the DJ and his club night often sport, this mix leans heavy on the sounds of the indie-dance set.

Bombastic soundsystem wreckers like Rusko, Major Lazer, A-Trak, and Fake Blood hold down a large part of Lights and Sounds, while some club-rap tunes courtesy of Lil Wayne, Big Boi, Kanye West, and Ludacris make up the rest of the selections. This mixtape has one single purpose: to make you move by any force necessary. And it does so with incessant dance beats, tweaked vocal deliveries, and an arsenal of hyped-up party sounds. You can download and stream DJ White Mike's Lights and Sounds below before his next Get Loose! party jumps off this Saturday, October 2, at Beauty Bar.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
