The Week in Event Names: YouTube Bestiary Edition

Posted By on Tue, Sep 7, 2010 at 2:55 PM

Well, that's it. The week in music has been overrun by creatures great and small. Even on Labor Day, that hallowed sabbath of secular holidays, we were forced to contend with Panda Bear at the Fox. Is nothing sacred?

But press on we must. To prepare you for the faunal frenzy in performance spaces across the city this week, we've rounded up some videos illustrative of the namesake animals. Let the hypnotic caperings of these pixelated beasts show you what to expect from the week in music.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
