became the go-to social network thanks to its interwoven, fluid interface and unobtrusive advertising, Soundcloud has taken over the Internet's music profile market due to a format that focuses on what Myspace seemed to leave to chance: the actual music. Plus, it doesn't hurt that it looks better, and is infinitely more 'Web 2.0,' with embeddable streaming players and the ability to connect more easily with other musicians. If you make music, you need a Soundcloud profile, and Minieri's tips will get you started on the right track.
Over seven detailed and thought-out points, Minieri encapsulates the process in which one could utilize a free web service (though he suggests going for the paid account) to garner loads of attention from possible new fans looking for fresh music. What it all boils down to is involvement. Since Soundcloud offers an interactive environment, it works in your best interest to check out the music of your peers, show them support through comments, put tracks into your "Favorites" list, look for groups of like-minded artists to join, and so on.
