S.F. Nightlife and Club Crackdown: Current TV Weighs in with a Video

The story of Larry Bertrand, Arash Ghanadan, and the SFPD/ABC crackdown on clubs and nightlife in San Francisco has been told many times in print. But recently, our friendly local Al Gore-owned broadcast network, Current TV, posted this clip, entitled "The Tables Have Turned," to its website. While the piece mostly consists of interviews with affected DJs explaining what happened and expressing their disbelief at the situation, it's nonetheless interesting to relive the entire ugly episode through their eyes.

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
