True Song: "We All Just Want to be Big Tech Stars"

Posted By on Tue, Jun 15, 2010 at 4:07 PM

Continuing the tech-exec-as-rock-star meme we have this silly video, which not only is likely the best thing that could ever come from a Nickelback song, but also features would-be Larrys and Zucks hilariously lip-synching in tech hotspots about venture capital and Luddite bosses. My favorite chorus lines:

"And I'll Tweet my drivel like a digital player
And check in everywhere so I can be mayor
Spend all my time on the conference panels
Which will all be covered in the digital annals."

All-in-all, a new anthem for the geeky would-be-gazillionaire. Tech on.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
