The Sandwitches @ Rickshaw Stop

If the Replacements were ghoulish teenage girls raised on a strict diet of Chuck Berry outtakes, the Sandwitches would be their biggest fans. Moaning and howling out harmonized orders to go "Back to the Sea" or "Mary Me," lead vocalists and guitar players Heidi Alexander and Grace Cooper are backed by the roughed-up, spare drumming of Lance Kramer. The whole caboodle is just back in town after playing an Austin music festival we're sick of hearing about, as well as new festival MtyMx in Monterrey, Mexico. Be prepared for "Beatle Scream," which really lives up to its name.

The Sandwitches and Hobocop open for the Growlers tonight at Rickshaw Stop (8 p.m., $8).

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
