Of course you know this movie's gonna go over huge in San Francisco, where every neighborhood is marked up with a mix of bad tags and bad-ass graffiti and mural art. Exit Through the Gift Shop, the new documentary about internationally-revered street artist Banksy, tells the story of the elusive British graffiti star through the eyes of an amateur French documentarian, who himself becomes a subject of the film. The movie was the talk of Sundance this year, as it also delves into other big names in the urban art world (Shepard Fairey, Invade) who are interviewed and captured in the act, all in the name of pushing graffiti forward.

San Francisco is one of the select cities to get an early peak at Exit Through the Gift Shop. The film opens on April 16 at the Embarcadero.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
