While it isn't exactly a Bay Area takeover of the Chicago festival, local indie acts are making a strong showing in the 2010 Lollapalooza lineup, which was just announced last night. Rogue Wave, The Dodos, and the Morning Benders all made the cut to play the Grant Park stages August 6-8, squeezing a little local pride into the 100+ artist bill.

The headliners for 2010 include another Bay name: Green Day, who get the giant font treatment online, along with other main stage acts Soundgarden, Lady Gaga, Arcade Fire, and the Strokes (who, um, it seems haven't been on the best of terms. They recently made the decision to record separately from frontman Julian Casablancas).

But hey, whatever...regardless of whether you plan on musicationing it over to Chicago, it's good to see the home teams making strong showings in yet another major festival.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
