The Dodos: New Video, New Pornographers Tour

Posted By on Tue, Mar 23, 2010 at 2:29 PM

If this spring weather isn't enough to make you want to get the hell outta Dodge, check out the new video from SF indie pop stars the Dodos. The visuals for the single "Longform" encourage as much of an escape as the lyrics (in which Meric Long shouts "Go!" and sings of being free to leave everything behind). The clip is a blur of what looks like Highway 1 imagery: iconic Big Sur bridges, cliffside farmland, and sparkling ocean vistas flash by in a clip as a little green car hugs those scenic curves.

"Longform" could inspire many a road trip, while the band itself extends its tour of American freeways. After playing Bonnaroo in June, the Dodos will open for The New Pornographers on the Canadian pop act's gigs throughout their country and ours.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
