What's Up With Adam Stephens? A New Solo Record (and Free Tix)

Adam Stephens, the singing/guitar-playing half of Two Gallants, has been working on his solo debut recently. He's been recording down in Los Angeles with producer Joe Chiccarelli (My Morning Jacket, The Shins, White Stripes), with MMJ's Patrick Hallahan on drums, and a couple other notable names supposedly stepping into the studio with him. (You can hear two demos at Stephens'  MySpace page).

Word from the Two Gallants camp is that this doesn't mean the duo is done for. They're simply on hiatus, with Stephens fleshing out songs he believed wouldn't work with the Gallants. He's also ramping up his live performance presence, hitting the stage with five other musicians to preview his upcoming record on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Rickshaw Stop.

If you'd like to go to the show, we have one pair of tickets available for that Rickshaw gig to the first commenter below.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
