If you missed your first chance to see hip-hop take over the normally-staid Davies Hall--home of the San Francisco Symphony, don't fret. Ankh Marketing and Guerilla Union (promoters of Rock the Bells) has just announced an upcoming performance by the mighty Mos Def and the divine Erykah Badu at the hallowed hall, on Thursday, September 3 (up-and-comer Jay Electronica opens). And though official ticketing doesn't begin until tomorrow, August 1, click on this link and enter the password "Ankh" for reduced-price presales.

Having attended the Roots show--an amazing performance which brought a vibrant and diverse audience to Davies--it's nice to see this trend continue, especially with two top-shelf performers like Mr. Mos and Ms. Badu.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
