If you missed the Brass, Bows and Beats premiere at the Palace of Fine Arts a few months back, don't despair. The 50-piece hip-hop orchestra, led by Jazz Mafia don Adam Theis and featuring alt-hop icon Lyrics Born, has just announced six Yoshi's shows August 20-22. But that's not all: according to publicist Jason Schwartz, Theis has plans to add choreography and take the show to Broadway. Cab Calloway is probably lighting a stick of Viper in heaven at the news.

UPDATE: According to the Theis-meister, Lyrics Born is NOT scheduled to perform at Yoshis (though a cameo app is possible), and the orchestra will be limited to 40 musicians (apparently that's all that can fit on the stage).

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
