Rubies Video: "I Feel Electric"

Posted By on Mon, Jul 6, 2009 at 12:15 PM

San Francisco's folk-disco globe-trotters Rubies are hosting a homecoming/CD release party for their latest CD, Explode from the Center at Rickshaw Stop this Thursday. The CD has a number of buzz-worthy guests, from Feist to members of the Concretes, Sorcerer, and Kings of Convenience, but the two women behind this bright pop project are also creating a stir on their own (Simone Rubi and Terri Loewenthal made a name for themselves as members of Call & Response). You can check out the video for a single off Explode, "I Feel Electric," above: the clip features a favorite local pastime, glow in the dark biking.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
