Pop-trance prince B.T. -- ne Brian Transeasu-- plays a free show July 1 at Ruby Skye.

One of the biggest names in electronic music, B.T. has released five studio albums (the most recent being 2006's This Binary Universe), remixed artists from the Doors to Sarah McLachlan, and has scored both movies ("The Fast and the Furious," "Monster," "Go," "Under Suspicion") and video games ("Wreckless: The Yakuza Mission," "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005").

He's known for a sampling technique called the "BT stutter" and for being one of the few trance artists to frequently play live. Despite not being an actual DJ, he's been nominated for "America's Best DJ" several times. In other words, BT is big time. Peep his video for "Simply Being Loved" here.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
