Another Planet/Superfly Will Host Outside Lands V.2

Back in December there was something of a bureaucratic struggle over hosting a big festival in Golden Gate Park as Another Planet (and their promotion partner Superfly) attempted to start work on year two of Outside Lands.

The city put the promoters through a big to-do (that we haven't heard other big park fests, from Hardly Strictly Bluegrass to Power to the Peaceful having to deal with) in order to get claim on a destination event idea they came up with in the first place. Today the Chron reports that Another Planet was officially chosen as the company to host the concert idea they created. Good news for the local promoters, and for the city, as Outside Lands was an impressive event for a first year gig--from the local food merchants to the local artists who created the banners and played various stages. (I imagine they'll be fixing the issues of public transportation, signage for leaving the park in a drunken stupor, and parking next time around--minor aggravations in an otherwise impressive event).

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
