Strange when an indie record store in Salt Lake City lists among its most popular releases a relatively unknown band from San Francisco. But in the Jan. 22 issue of Rolling Stone's "local favorites" column, the Bay Area's own Uzi & Ari's Headworms was listed among Neil Young, Fleet Foxes, and Bon Iver for the top selling records at a place called Slowtrain Records. Listening to tunes like "Missouri" "Missoula" and "Wolf Eggs," it's easy to hear the group's appeal. Their music is a convergence of twee indie and electronica, with bits of the the Notwist, Radiohead, and Neutral Milk Hotel in their music. Check out these tracks and more at Uzi & Ari's MySpace page here.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
