(A slice of Jay Howell's new print "Here's Some People," available at Fecal Face's gallery)

Last Friday night I hit up Fecal Face's gallery to check out the new print for sale from one of my favorite local artists, Jay Howell (at $75 a pop, these prints are a steal...his stuff's soared to over $600 at other galleries). Jay told me he's working on a new issue of his Forest City Rockers project, and this next one will focus on Thee Oh Sees. In the meantime, you can check in on Jay (and his knack for uncovering lotsa good sites for free music from obscure bands like the Warlock Pinchers) on his excellent/hilarious blog, Punks Git Cut. -- Jennifer Maerz

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
