While you wait for the new Kanye platter, 808s & Heartbreak, to hit the stores, check out his mixtape, Sky High. The 19-song set, commissioned by the man himself, is a track-by-track remix of Graduation helmed by DJ Benzi and Plain Pat. Sky High features beats by A-Trak, Scottie B, DJ Stretch Armstrong, Cookin' Soul, Eli Escobar, Diplo, The Kickdrums, and Nick Catchdubs, among others. Check the killer LL Cool J sample in Catchdubs' rework of "Champion"; or A-Track's hustled-up version of "Stronger." And definitely listen to Kanye's remix of his own "Homecoming," with a chunky Justice beat. The songs are almost all completely reworked from the original, and can be streamed on Imeem's site. Good stuff. -- Jennifer Maerz

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
