(Bret Michaels shows off his new crimped look)

You know who really wishes it was still 1988? Bret Michaels. The "Rock Of Love” star (and former Poison frontman) is still doing that poofy thing with his lips and writing about rocking the panties off Sunset Blvd. At least he's not trying a rock-rap hybrid thing, right? Dude knows his bank account is tied to butt rockers in flaming cowboy hats and women with life jacket boobs, and so the first single off his new record, “Go That Far,” is kinda what you'd expect the guy. Opening line: "Please let me introduce myself/I'm gonna get you off like there's no one else." Chorus: "I get ya higher baby, if you want to go that far." It's like hair metal never went flat, but I'm sure it sounds fun at the casinos and fairgrounds Michaels is touring through this summer. Check out “Go That Far" here . -- Jennifer Maerz

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
