Last month nothing said oysters like She & Him. On August 30, nothing will say slow food like Gnarls Barkley. The odd pop couple is coming to San Francisco's Fort Mason to headline the Slow Food Rocks festival, which has to be the strangest named event this summer. Also performing that Saturday: Ozomatli, New Pornographers, and Medeski Martin & Wood. On Sunday, August 31 the lineup includes the John Butler Trio and G. Love & Special Sauce.

Produced by the Food Network, the event should have a delicious counterpart in the eating element of the day. The channel is promising that "All food and beverage vendors for the music festival will be sourced through Slow Food Nation, representing the best in good, clean and fair prepared foods, meats, produce, micro-brews and wine." No cardboard pizza and wonderbread-bunned garden burgers here, right?

The festival is the weekend after Outside Lands, but is sizeably smaller and cheaper. Tickets are $59-$99, or $100-$140 for a weekend pass. -- Jennifer Maerz

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
