Cook Kids, Cornelius, Cat Power and Om Make the SF Music Stream -- 01.16.07

Posted By on Fri, Jan 18, 2008 at 11:23 AM

I really like the music we wrote about in the SF Weekly music section this week. The Cool Kids make it sound like hip-hop ain't dead, Dan Deacon creates noisy-awesome madness that the warehouse kids can only dream of, and Cornelius's coffee shop muzak deserves genuine respect. New tunes, people! Listen for your own good. -douche twice

(The SF Music Stream is compiled every Wenesday by Oscar Medina, usually it runs on Wednesday at 9 a.m., but things got super-FUBAR this week.)

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
