Snoop's Got a New Video and Single and It's Off The Chain

Posted By on Thu, Dec 6, 2007 at 12:10 PM

Snoop Doggy Dogg's new single "Sexual Eruption" off his forthcoming Ego Trippin album slated for early '08, is exactly what we want from mainstream rap/pop (what's the difference anymore, anyways?). Taking cues from the vocoder stylings of Zapp and Roger, the presence and charisma of Prince and Rick James, and the retro '70s feel of Parliament's Funkadelic, Snoop has reinvented himself again with a slo-mo dance jam sure to have the clubs/radio fans salivating. The music is only half the package with a video that we think is on top of the heap for '07. —Oscar Medina

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
