After what seemed like an eternity of keeping The Dark Knight on hush, Christopher Nolan recently screened the first six minutes of the Batman Begins sequel to a small group of lucky bastards in New York. What's more, the new movie poster is out, as well as some pretty cool publicity shots of Heath Ledger as the Joker. We nerds are salivating rabidly for this film, as the Joker is definitely not going to be "ha-ha" funny. Instead Ledger portrays the Joker as what actor Michael Caine describes as, "an absolutely maniacal murderous psychopath. You have never seen anything like it in your life. He is very, very scary."

For all the comic book illiterates out there, please refer to The Killing Joke to see what he means. Then go see I Am Legend next week, not to see Will Smith battle mutant vampires, but to watch the first six minutes of The Dark Knight in all its psychotic glory. -- Oscar Pascual

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
