Free M.I.A. show Saturday

Posted By on Tue, Jul 24, 2007 at 10:40 AM

Those of you who didn't grab tickets to M.I.A.'s beyond-sold-out show at Rickshaw Stop Saturday night still have a chance to see the international electro queen perform live. She'll be at Amoeba's Berkeley store on the 28th at 2 p.m. The event is free, all ages, and for the brave and non-claustrophobic. (Rickshaw will also be giving away one pair of tickets at 2 p.m. on Wed. ... to get in on that contest, join the club's mailing list here). -- Jennifer Maerz

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
